My Philadelphia Metro connection:
We moved to Philly via San Francisco, so we could be near extended family. We’ve been here 12 years now and we truly love Philadelphia. First we lived in Center City, now we’re in the burbs.

My family:
My husband and I have been blessed with three sons, ages 15, 12, & 9, and one daughter, 4, who, unfortunately, thinks she is a 15-year-old boy. We call her our little birl.

My fun fact:
I’m an author – I wrote a book on birthday parties (The Delaware Valley Birthday Party Handbook) a few years back. I’m also one of nine kids – 5th of 9.

My life before baby:
Previously I worked in marketing at a Boston bank, and later at PR firms in San Francisco. I morphed into a book publicist around the time my first son arrived in the world. Later I wrote my book. I’ve worked most of my mommy-life.

My life in the BabyZone:
I do a MAJOR amount of driving! I help out at the kids’ schools. I am here after school every day – homework central. Nobody goes anywhere till their homework is done. Brings out the drill sergeant in me.

My hobbies and passions:
I am an early a.m. runner – out the door by 6 am. Back in time to get my eldest up and off to school. I love to read, but only non-fiction.

My best parenting tip: You get out of your kids what you put in. If you put a lot of time and energy into them, you’ll see the benefits down the road. Kind of like that saying: “What comes ‘round, goes round.”
